First Group win for Pat Eddery
04.09.2009

True to his name Hearts of Fire won the Zukunfts-Rennen (Gr.III, 1.400m, 50,000) on the fifth day of the Great Festival Week at Baden-Baden. It was already the seventh start of the two-year-old, who began his season as early as March. Hearts of Fire gave Pat Eddery, who had more than 4.500 victories as a jockey in England alone, his first Group win as a trainer. The colt was ridden by Olivier Peslier who said: "It's a pleasure to ride for a former colleague."

French man Peslier was the man of the day: He also won the Coolmore Stud Baden-Baden-Cup (Listed race, 1.200m, 20.000 Euro) on board the four year old filly La Sylvia.
