Getaway takes the Grosser Mercedes-Benz Preis von Baden

 The Grand Prix is the highlight of the racing season at Baden-Baden. On three occassions Adrie de Vries decided against Wiener Walzer. "In the Derby it was a mistake, but in Cologne Getaway could have won", the Dutch man, who works for Jens Hirschberger and Georg Baron von Ullmann. But it was three times lucky for de Vries, because on softish ground Getaway proved the stronger not only of Wiener Walzer but also of Eastern Anthem with Frankie Dettori and Youmzain with Kieren Fallon. All three horses could now head to Paris to line up in the Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe. Getaway also got an invitation to start in the 4-Million Japan Cup at the end of November. |
