Neon Light the best two-year old 25.10.2009
The Preis der Winterkoenigin (Gr.III, 1.600m, 105.000 Euro) is the most important race for two-year old fillies in Germany. Neon Light, trained by Andreas Woehler, took the race ahead of favourite Elle Shadow. Nianga came third. "We did not really plan to run here just two weeks after her victory in Duesseldorf, but racing manager Manfred Hofer had the idea." And it paid off.
The Badener Sprint-Cup (Gr.III, 1.400m, 50.000 Euro) proved to be a very emotional affair. Pascal Werning could not hide his tears after winning his first Group race. He rode outsider Walero to beat Le Big, the irish raider Rock of Rochelle and Smooth Operator.
It was the another success for trainer Uwe Ostmann after winning the Heel Baden-Wuerttemberg-Trophy with Liang Kay on Saturday. Liang Kay was ridden by French jockey Yann Lerner. Pont des Arts from Switherland finished runner-up ahead of Steuben and Schiller Danon. |
